Getting through tough times without giving up- Ashley Poptodorova

483593_443655682388749_727459351_n

How many times in life have you gone through something VERY tough and challenging and thought that it would take everything in you just to get through? Well, I believe that we have ALL endured times like these and I believe it is in the midst of these challenges that we grow and build strength the most. However, if you are not solidly grounded on the promises of the one greater than all of this, Jesus Christ, it will make it VERY hard and quite frankly impossible. I simply cannot imagine going through some of the biggest challenges of my life not rooted in Gods promises and His support. I have lived on both sides, at one time (not knowing better) I faced life and the challenges in my life in a very “worldly” way.

Today, I endure the challenges that come grounded on the Lords promises.  I remind myself (sometimes I have to SCREAM it to myself) of the price Jesus Christ paid on the cross, shedding His precious blood so that I (YOU and I!!!) could be FREE. This truly was the ultimate gift that empowers and enables us through our lives and in our daily struggles. Listen, I have a great life and I am so richly blessed. I thank God and have a grateful heart for all that He has done with and through me but I would be a fool to tell you that I am challenge free. Heck NO! In fact, I am enduring some of the biggest struggles of my life right now and I continue to press on and press forward. Sometimes that means pressing into my church family and those who know and care for me. At other times it means really pressing into the word or just raising my hands in worship. It means that I make a CHOICE, a daily choice, not to give up or give in! Defeat is from the enemy. Shame, depression, weakness, anger, sadness none of these are from God and He wants you to rise above and experience so much more! It requires us to CLAIM it however!! In Him we are victors, without Him we are simply lost.

While our God wants blessings, abundance, happiness, joy, peace, wisdom and SO much more for us, it comes with a CHOICE that only you can make. Who are you going to plug yourself in to when the tough times hit? What source are you going to draw from during times of struggle in your life? I write these words to you NOT because I watch one too many DVD’s, podcasts or videos but because I am LIVING it! I have had to draw on His supernatural strength. I have had to lean on those around me to stand with me in agreement and in prayer. I have had to make a conscious effort to fight for the abundance that God has for us ALL!

Choose to still see the beauty in the world, even when you have firsthand experience with those things not so beautiful. Choose to smile even when you’ve had reasons to cry. Choose to understand in the deepest parts of your soul that the PRICE JESUS CHRIST paid on the Cross for YOU and  I was ENOUGH! He said it was done and IT WAS DONE! The price He paid was good enough for all of us yet, when we turn from Him and don’t believe, it is just like saying what He did on that cross was not enough. That’s how serious this is friends.

Now, does this mean you can’t mourn or show emotion? Does this mean you can’t shed tears or get upset? NO!! We are human and these are human emotions but what you CHOOSE to ACT on is what determines your fate. It is ok to show emotion but when you wipe your tears and proceed into the next moment… what do you do? Think? Say? THIS is what matters!

I am determined to see the beauty in all of the challenges and struggles I face in my life! These provide SO many useful things from resilience to determination to lessons. NOTHING is in vain but you remember friends, struggles will come, challenges WILL come but WHO you choose to tap into and stay grounded on is what determines your faith (and your RESULTS!). Ask God to TEACH you how to get through these times while strengthening your faith in Him. Ask Him to help you learn the lessons or those things in your life that you need to let go. You see, WE are all responsible for the decisions we make. It is all too easy to “blame” God when the tough times hit but ultimately, EVERYTHING ties back to a decision we’ve made. Sometimes we want all of the blessings without the tests and the trials. If you are struggling with this, ask God to reveal to you what is inside your heart and He will.

Choose to keep moving forward, prayerfully and faithfully rooted on His promises and know above all that He who is in YOU is greater than he who is in the world. You’ve been given all you need. Now it is time to tap into it and begin applying. After all, Jesus died to give you this very power.

Here is to overcoming challenges and NOT giving up! :)

In health and God Bless you,

Ashley

Making the choice to be HAPPY with Motivational Speaker Ashley Poptodorova

221714_10151344170200233_800530978_n

Happiness. So many desire it but few ever attain true, deep everlasting happiness. Why is this? How can we turn things around so that happiness flows plentiful for all of us? I believe that many people think happiness is directly tied to things and circumstances. If you allow your happiness to be tied to your circumstances, you will surely encounter disappointment.

Happiness is a choice. No matter what your circumstances are. No matter the trials or tribulations that life presents, happiness is a determined point of view and a constant choice. A desire that one has in their deepest depths to seek joy amidst the chaos. I recently read a quote that said “Happiness is a form of courage” and I loved it! Choosing to be HAPPY and seek the good from the bad takes courage. Not only is it a challenge for us as humans, it is in direct opposition to the world’s way of doing things.

I encourage you today to CHOOSE HAPPINESS. Choose to seek out the brighter things in your life and keep your eyes focused on the good. For every bad thing that happens there are two blessings. I know that at times in life, it can be so hard to keep this focus. As 1 John 4:4 so perfectly states,  ”He who is in YOU is greater than he who is in the world”.  Through the power of the Holy Spirit you will be given the wisdom, knowledge and support needed to make the right choices for you life, including the choice to be happy. God will never leave you alone or unprepared. All of the tools are yours once you make the decision to dedicate your life to Him.

Here are some simple ways to add happiness back into your life, or at the very least, increase your happiness!  I have been through so much in my life friends and without the unconditional love of Jesus Christ I wouldn’t be a tenth of where I am at today, nor would I have the peace of mind, deep joy and happiness and GRATEFULNESS that I do for life. I hope this little things help… remember, the little things are usually the “big” things in life!

#1) Seek the one who loves you, created you and knows you! The world will never be able to fill the giant hole of sadness that lies within without the one who created everything. Jesus loves you, wants to know you and He is waiting with open arms. Happiness starts here.

#2) Do something you love EACH day. Don’t know what it is you love? Take the time to get to know YOU. Each day you need to focus on one thing. Whether it be writing, walking on the beach, calling a friend, taking quiet time alone to journal or hit the gym… you’ve got to take this time.

#3) Make your “happy list” which you hang on the fridge, bathroom mirror and car… remember, VISUALIZATION is key! What is a happy list? A list of everything you are grateful for. Sometimes, just seeing these things takes your mind to that place (or those people) and will bring a smile to your face.

#4) Sit in the sun. Each day, I like to sit outside and let the warm sun hit my face. I reflect on the beauty our Lord created and all of the amazing things in my life. Give praises to the one who gives you these things too.

#5) Avoid Negative people! Into each life… many will fall! CHOOSE to stay away from those who belittle your ambitions, bring you down or repeatedly hurt you. The more negativity you remove from your life the more you open yourself up to all of the GREAT things God has in store.

#6) Focus on healing. Don’t mask the pain of the past rather, seek to truly let God heal those places of your heart that have been so hurt. Open up to someone you trust (I opened up to a dear friend and also my Pastor) but I highly recommend you be careful not to seek “worldly” advice. You need strong biblical guidance to navigate this crazy word. Remember, text-book has a place but the “Book of life” holds ALL of the answers.

#7) Make a list of the things you love about you! We are all fantastic and have such a beautiful place in this world! Do you know your place? Get to know you and what makes you so special. Write out your vision and dream for your life and know this…. you have a very special purpose in this world. Take the time to get to know what makes you so amazing!

Well, there you have it! I love the #7- it stands for COMPLETION and WHOLENESS. Here is to you choosing happiness friends. You deserve this and others deserve to be happy because of what YOU bring to their lives!

God bless you and reach out if you ever need anything!

Blessings,

Ashley

be happy for this moment

There is POWER in being positive-Tampa Motivational Speaker

331305988_xOgKdLoZ_c

There is power in the positive! How many times a day do you speak positive reaffirming thoughts to yourself? As much as I wish I could say  the numbers were higher, it is statistically proven that most people do not. In fact, more people are used to speaking, reading and watching the “negative” more than anything else. Our society, in some twisted way-has learned to thrive in a negative environment. Are people really thriving though? I think not.

If you look at the state of our world, what we are producing, how things are going etc.- it would prove that negativity is poisoning everything it comes in contact with. The older I get and the more mature I get, the more I am realizing what a  powerful role the MIND plays in achieving success, well-being and a positive PRODUCTIVE life. Your mind is like a sponge what you fill it with, is what it will produce. For this very reason, I suggest being quite selective of the books you read, movies you watch and things you listen to. ALL of these daily bombardments ultimately end up forming you.

From the spiritual perspective and approach to this, it is clear to see we are in a daily war of GOOD vs. EVIL. The worldly ways of doing things show our youth and their young impressionable minds that they need not value themselves, they need not be choosy of whom they let into their life and they need to have no regard for themselves as human beings… after all, the goal is to create cattle. People who follow and conform. Our minds (and the minds of our YOUTH) are being poisoned daily, filled with useless garbage and lies which are all attacks of the enemy. This is done through videos, music, movies, media, books and the list goes on and on. In fact, if you look at the way advertisements are geared towards our youth it is enough to make you sick! Sexual provocativeness, innuendoes and “sex” marketing plaque the stores, markets, web  and everywhere else our teens (and adults!!) look. So, how do you begin unravelling the negative ball of string that has entangled itself in your heart and mind?? After all, most people do not even realize they are being force fed this junk daily.

I really like what it says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 “Capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ” … ok, lets dissect this. “Make it give up” … this to me, signifies “CHOICE” we have a choice to acknowledge our thoughts and we also have a choice to MAKE THE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS GIVE UP. It starts by becoming keenly aware of that which we think, read and DO daily. I personally battled with negative self talk, low self-esteem (lower than LOW), self belittlement etc. on a daily basis. I engaged in relationships  that reaffirmed how I felt about myself. Negative was my daily bread. I realized one day after ingesting so much negativity that I was dying a slow death. Literally, rotting from the inside out. I was letting the WORLD and negativity consume and define me. Until one day….. by the grace of God, I was able to have a slight clarity of mind and what I now know as the Holy Spirit directed me to grasp a hold of my life and make the choice to change!!

I began to embark on “project Ashley” if you will. I began to take back control of my health and my mind. I started to become acutely aware of the thoughts that flooded my mind daily and I began to put myself in “thought boot camp” if you will! I wrote down and journaled my way out of this mess. I spoke positive reaffirming thoughts (you won’t always believe them at first!!) DAILY. In fact, I clearly remember a time where I stood in my bathroom looking at myself in the mirror tears running down my face as I repeated at least 20 times, “you are beautiful… you are beautiful …. you are beautiful” . I remember that moment as clearly as yesterday. I remember watching the tears stream down my face, the pain I felt so deep in my heart but there was an ember deep down that was burning and wouldn’t be put out. You see, I had to unravel YEARS of limiting self beliefs, negative self talk, embedded thoughts and patterns, abandonment and the list goes on and on. Yet, I had a desire to make a change. I knew that there was a better way. Now, I know that it was God guiding me and protecting me through the gift of the Holy Spirit. He will take you right where you are at and make like you like new.

Now, while it may seem like this is a bit off topic it really is not. You see, the things I battled with daily were just the symptoms. The real disease was the negativity. I had to begin to rewire my mind. To train myself to be positive, think positive, find the good out of the bad, seek the deeper meaning behind the pain of my life. I had to stop blaming and start realizing that I would be the only one left to blame if I chose to let my life go to “hell in a hand basket” … sorry, but its true! I began to be very choosy of whom I let into my life (friends, relationships, family) and I began to surround myself with only those things which would enhance my life, make me better or make me believe in myself more.

I got rid of the garbage. I took out the trash. You know, sometimes its hard to let go of that which we are comfortable with. It can attack in many forms from the relationships we are in, music we listen to, tv shows we watch. It is all feeding our mind something. Is it good or bad? Positive or negative? Useful or useless? Will it make you be more, do more or enhance your life? When you start asking yourself these tough questions it will help you to quickly weed out that which is clearly not needed in your life. You’ll be shocked to see how much negativity bombards your life (and your MIND!) daily.

For this very reason, I don’t own a television. You’d be shocked at how many people can’t comprehend this very thing. No TV??? What do you watch? The answer… not much. I choose to read (and only those things that will enhance my mind, my life and my value here on this planet.) I love to write, I love to study the word, I love to listen to CD’s and DVD’s that promote good things in this world. I love to enhance my knowledge. If its going to be a stormy weekend, I won’t know, because I don’t watch the news. Why?? 99% of it is meaningless junk that breeds negativity. While I do believe in “awareness” of what is going on in the world… I do not believe that starting and ending my day with 2 hours of “negative” or mind numbing media will do anything to help anyone. In fact, it will do the opposite. It will embed itself in my subconscious essentially affecting everything I do for the rest of the day.

Basically, in a nutshell, start to become aware of what you put into that head of yours. I thank God every day for giving me clarity of thought and mind. In fact, I am so aware now, that it truly perplexes me how people can live as long as they do ingesting so much junk.

As a recap: here are some bullet points for ridding yourself of negativity and becoming powerful through the POSITIVE

**Seek out a personal relationship with Christ. The only way (the ONLY way) to have a deeper relationship with yourself is to have one with Him. Everything you could ever want to know or learn about life, is right there in the bible! Everthing. Study it daily and watch what happens. He takes all of the hurts, pains, terrible things of life and He uses them for your good. He helps make you NEW again.

**Journal- this saved me! I love writing my thoughts, feelings and emotions on paper. Not only is it therapeutic, it gives you a different perspective that simply “thinking” about won’t do. It offers you an outlet and a way to diffuse. As you go back to old journals, you will be amazed at what God can do!

**If you are in a place where you think NEGATIVE all the time, carry around a notepad and start to journal your thoughts. First, this increases awareness. Second, it allows you to go back to EACH NEGATIVE thought and perform a REDO. This means, you replace that negative thought with a positive reaffirming thought.

**Remember, learning to be positive is like learning a new language. It takes time, effort and patience. You won’t be positive overnight but as you let God work in your heart and your mind suddenly, things that made no sense will make PERFECT sense.

**BE CHOOSY!! Think about the movies you watch, TV you watch, books you read, music you listen to etc…. ALL of these things are being absorbed into that precious mind of yours daily! YOU HAVE A CHOICE WHAT GOES IN. Do not forget what goes in usually comes out!

**Ask yourself the TOUGH questions:

Will this make me better?

Is this useless or useful to me?

Will this enhance my life?

Will reading, watching, doing this particular thing bring me closer to where I want to be tomorrow?

Is this positive for my life OR negative for my life?

Friends, in conclusion I just want you to understand that becoming AWARE of these things is the first step. My project took years of healing and letting God work in the deepest places of my heart but let me tell you…. He is revealing more to me about myself and others than I ever thought possible! YOU have the power to step up and say “MY life is valuable! I am a child of God and I have a place and purpose in this world” … if you really want to fulfill the divine purpose that God has for you, it starts with you combating the NEGATIVE in your life. You do NOT have to be force-fed the meaningless lies and negativity that you are eating each day. You can choose what goes on your plate. Just remember, what goes on your plate…. well, it’s what you have to eat.

God bless and happy thoughts!

10 things to smile about no matter what kind of day your having- Ashley Poptodorova

Image

Hello friends and happy Thursday!

You know, I was just driving yesterday and thinking to myself- there are SO many things to smile about! Truly… no matter what kind of day we are having, there is ALWAYS something to smile about! I know your so excited to get to “smiling” so I won’t leave you hanging, lets get to it!

#1) You have a God that adores you and loves you no matter what!! I mean COME ON.. how great is that!? Despite our constant shortcomings or failures, we serve a GRACIOUS God that wants to bless us! Now, THAT is something to smile about!

#2) Each new day is a FRESH chance to begin again! Go ahead, smile!! This is awesome! No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, each day is a fresh chance. JUMP ON IT (and do it with a smile on your face!)

#3) The gift of LIFE! If you are reading this- God has granted you another chance and another day! Be thankful for the gift of life (and yes, of course, SMILE!)

#4) You can always take a nap! Yep… I know some of you are thinking I’m crazy for putting this one down but seriously… even if its just 10 minutes in the car with the newspaper hiding your face- catnaps work wonders and you CAN sneak away for a few to grab one (JUST DON’T OVERSLEEP!)

#5) Friends! Who doesn’t smile when they think of their friends? Need a boost or need a reason to smile? Call one of your friends in the middle of the day just to say HI! It will put a smile on both of your faces! :)

#6) Changes….! Smile because YOU have the choice (YES, no matter what!) to change if you are not happy! Don’t like something? YOU have the power to change it!

#7) Choice- Each day you can make different choices! I seriously think this is something huge to smile about!! We are living in a country that offers freedom of choice! This is a blessing and something many give their lives to experience. SMILE!

#8) LOVE- You know, I know many people who feel like they have NO ONE but you know what? This is a lie of the enemy! Of course the enemy wants  you to believe this but God says otherwise! He loves you SO incredibly much (so much so that He sent His son to die on the Cross for YOU!) so you DO have someone who loves you (UNCONDITIONALLY!) Smile ;)

#9) YOU are AWESOME! Yes!! Smile because there is NO ONE like YOU! The world needs just what you have to offer. Sometimes, you may not feel it but again- these are lies of the enemy! You are special, unique and you bring something to this world that no one else can so SMILE and ROCK ON!

#10) Smile because you have the FREEDOM to live in a country that allows you to change something if you don’t like it, make different choices EACH day, speak freely and love whomever you choose! You are FREE to stand up at any moment and say THIS IS NOT how the story is going to end. SMILE and take ownership friends.

Listen, I know life can be tough (Um… trust me!) I have been through SO much in my time here on Earth and cried many tears but you know what? You serve a God who is bigger and stronger than ANYTHING you can ever come up against and you have WAY more than the 10 reasons above to smile! What you focus on … well, its what you focus on! CHOOSE to focus on the good!

Hugs (and health!)

Overcoming fear with Inspirational speaker, Ashley Poptodorova

296604325428346020_rEpDeJ5J_c

I wanted to blog about something today that will hit close to home with many of you… OVERCOMING FEAR OF FAILURE! I am doing a bible study class at my church each Monday and this has been a topic of interest. So many people never experience the fullness of life or all that God has in store for them because they close themselves off for fear of failure. It is my hopes to encourage you through this post to keep going and press forward boldly on God’s promises for your life!

How many times in your life have you passed up a beautiful opportunity for fear of failing? Have you ever stopped yourself from getting close to someone because you were afraid? So many times, we block ourselves and stop great things from happening because of FEAR! Fear can take many forms too, leaving you feeling unsatisfied and miserable. It does not just display itself in our careers but it can filter to our personal relationships, family  and things that mean so much to us. If fear is not dealt with, it can even be passed on for generations, literally debilitating lineages. “Fear not” however, because I am going to post some great tips and suggestions here today that you can start applying right away! It is my hopes that by the end of this, you will step out in FAITH and stomp on FEAR!

Lets start by looking at some ways FEAR can attack our lives and deal with those first. Have you ever experienced an incident where you passed up something you REALLY wanted because you were scared? I know I have, and I thank God every day He helped me to overcome!

Fear can paralyze so many areas of our lives including our family, careers, spouses/marriages/relationships, hobbies and passions. You see, fear is like venom when injected it can potentially cause paralysis!! The “anti venom” of fear however is FAITH and TRUST in your abilities! (I know, much easier said than done). Now, I could give you advice based on the worlds views on overcoming fear, but I do not feel at all in my heart like this is the answer. In fact, I know it is not. There are times in your life where self help books, cd’s, classes and workshops etc will help you… but I think of these as “medicine” to mask the symptoms. To truly experience a deep inner healing and to enable yourself to be empowered for a lifetime, this involves strengthening your relationship with God and letting Him work in the innermost parts of your heart.

Some of you may not be prepared for that answer, but I encourage you to keep reading and take it from a former “Fear phoebe” that this is the only true way of experiencing true belief in oneself. What is the opposite of FEAR? FAITH! I had to step out in faith in my life believing that God had more in store for me and my life than just “getting by”… and you know what? He does! He has such great plans for you and your life! How do you know however, what these plans are (or how to fight the weapons of the world) without knowing Him?

This is where I had to start. I had to lay down my way of doing things, my need to control situations, my fears and doubts and had to start literally spoon-feeding myself the word! I had to dive in and really start to seek out the deeper meaning to life! God enables you too friends. Do not ever think that you are in this alone, He is your parent and while there are tough lessons that will lie ahead, He will never ever leave you. He will teach you and guide you. He will properly equip you with His tools and weapons to fight the things of the world.

I won’t say this is an easy process, fear of failure is usually ingrained in us. Either from the way we were raised to the way we grew up! However, if YOU choose to rid your life of these debilitating “diseases” you will be able to. For me, it meant having to go back and “relearn” things. I had to re-teach myself lessons, morals and concepts. In many cases, I had to learn these for the first time. Learning to let go of FEAR was a big issue in my life. I had to start to become VERY choosy about my network and whom I chose to surround myself with. My whole life had to change.

MY BIGGEST FEAR was abandonment (remember, I said fear can take many forms). I had such a fear of loss and losing those close to me. I was incredibly needy in the beginning of my relationship with my husband because I had a deep fear of abandonment that almost suffocated my relationship. You see, nothing good ever comes of fear, doubt and self sabotage (ever!). This all stemmed from the way I grew up. If I continued to pacify this situation, it would only get worse and rear its ugly head more! I was NOT going to let this take over my life. You do not have to either.

So, now that you’ve taken this giant first step of recognizing your need to change aspects of your life, and strengthening your relationship with Christ, you will be well on your way to squashing FEAR (and many other lies of satan!). Trust me, there are bucket loads more. The next thing to begin to do is really write out those things that scare you! Blog, journal, write on a post it note … just write it so that you can SEE what your fears are. So many times, we live in a “trance” if you will just going about the same mundane things in an almost “unconscious” way.  We don’t even realize the self sabotage that we bombard ourselves with daily. I am a huge advocate of writing things down so that you can begin to focus on these areas one day at a time.  Post these things where they can be seen each day and commit to taking steps to eliminate these fears from your life.

Address each fear and really dig in deep to see why it is you think it cannot be achieved. Then, write down all of the things you would have to do accomplish your goals and knock out your fears! Each day say to yourself “I will NOT let my fears inhibit me from living the life God created and has planned for me”…. “Today, I will commit to one small “fear facing” task until I cross every fear off of my list! Seriously, I get excited just thinking about it! You will be a fear facing champ in no time!

Now, I don’t want to put a damper on this exciting moment but prepare yourself! There is an enemy out there who tries equally as hard to bring your down! The last thing satan wants is YOU living the life of your dreams and fulfilling Gods purpose on your life. FEAR (I repeat… FEAR!!) is one of his biggest tools and weapons that satan uses! You must put on the armor of God and prepare yourself for opposition. If you are studying the word and deepening your relationship with Christ however, you will know that these are lame and weakened attempts and you serve on the winning side! YOU CAN OVERCOME and live a life of abundance, blessings and happiness (completely at peace with yourself). Doesn’t this sound amazing? Well, being a fitness enthusiast I must compare it to what I know. If you want an athletic physique you must put in TIME and WORK! The same goes with your life… if you want peace, happiness, containment and JOY you must also work it. It doesn’t just fall in your lap.

Facing your fears takes courage. It takes an unwillingness to settle and a hunger for something deeper and more profound in your life. It cannot be faced or dealt with by going “around” it. You simply have to go through it. While this can be challenging and uncomfortable, it will be the most rewarding thing if you are willing to step up and say “no more!” Your life is meaningful. YOU are meaningful and God has a deeper plan for your life than anything you may imagine at this moment.

I got tired of surviving, thriving and striving the worldly way. I made a decision to step up on ALL levels and say “here I am Lord! I am your student, your child and I know you want more for me. Teach me how to want (and achieve) more for myself.” When you do this (and mean it) your life changes. Period. All of a sudden you stop caring what “people” think and you start wanting more of the blessings and good stuff!! :)

As a quick recap, face your fears by doing the following:

*Get to know yourself and Christ better!

*Stay in the word DAILY

*Write out your fears

*Write out your TO DO list on overcoming your fears

*Do one small thing (or more!) per day to mark off your accomplishments and fear squashing TO DO list!

*Prepare yourself by learning satans weak and meek lies

* Know that He who is in YOU is greater than he who is in the world

*Start to love yourself and do things that make you feel accomplished daily!

I hope this helps friends! If nothing else, remember… there are NEVER failures. ONLY LESSONS!

God Bless,

Ashley Poptodorova

What seems to us as bitter trials are often BLESSINGS in disguise by: Ashley Poptodorova

734242_457681784292725_1057481764_n
I adore this quote! How many times have you faced trials and bitter times in your life? I am sure there have been many! The very fact that you are here reading this post means you are either through the storm, or on the verge of it! I want to encourage you today that if you are not yet through the storm .. keep holding on! God is great and fully capable. Remember, He does not need our help. He only needs for us to be still. Yes, I know. This can be hard when you are in the midst of chaos.
How many times in life have you yearned for something so much and wanted something so badly you could taste it? I know I have! God has a unique way of opening some doors and shutting others and when a door that (YOU!) wanted to open slams in your face, it can be a hard thing.
However, looking back… how many times were you GLAD that door shut?
This has happened to me several times. In looking back, there have been several huge life events that God did not allow to happen and at the time I was so upset. Yet, now I look back and I am seriously thankful that these things did not pan out!  I think that God opens and shuts doors to teach us valuable lessons in our lives.
On the flip side, sometimes doors open that YOU want to open, but  you desire this for the wrong reasons. God has a way of letting some doors open in order to grow us and teach us. It can be lessons of maturity to gratefulness and appreciation. They key is to be fully trusting throughout and to know that through it all, you are learning.
Now, lets talk about the bitter trials of life. WOW. I can honestly say, I’ve had my share including recently. These are the times that test you to the deepest core of who you are. It is times like these that you see what you are really made of, and how much of God is in you! These are the times in life that seem to demand every last morsel of you and at times, you are left to wonder… will you make it through? I love this question and I can LOUDLY SCREAM… YES!!! You WILL make it through! Through the bitter trials of life spawn some of Gods greatest gifts and blessings!
Recently, my hubby and I were humbled with an experience we went through regarding something that meant so much to us. God literally stripped us until we were moldable and teachable. Make sense? He will take away those things in your life that are getting in the way of Him in order to fill you with MORE of Him!
When you come out of this experience (whatever it may be in your life) it is amazing. You learn to see things through different eyes and have an appreciation and understanding of what was lacking in your life. God uses these lessons to reveal to you things about yourself (and others) that you would not be able to see through cloudy vision. He removes the veil.
Alex and I were able to gain a fresh new perspective on our life and the things that really matter. God taught us about holding back (letting go of the need to have the last word), being mature and turning the other cheek. He revealed to us cracks in our lives (and marriage) that needed His spackle to fix and He taught us all of the beautiful lessons that we NEVER would have learned without  first enduring the trials!
Through it all, we know that His plan and vision is far greater than ours and while we still can’t see the whole picture, we know that He had it painted long before we got here. It is exciting when you think about it! Imagine a parent with their child. The whole objective is for the parent to raise their child in the way that they should go through teaching them valuable lessons, sharing in experiences, supporting them while still disciplining and guiding them.  This is what God does for us. He loves us unconditionally but this does not mean He won’t discipline us by opening and shutting doors. Too many people expect the “blessing” without the trials (lessons) and it just can’t be.
I just want to encourage you to keep pressing forward no matter where you are in your journey! You have a purpose here and your blessing is waiting but if it is not coming just yet, do not give up. There still may be something God has to teach you!
Remember, nothing is in vain especially in the Kingdom of God!
I hope this helps you with whatever you are going through and remember, what seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise. ~Oscar Wilde
Have a great evening friends and God Bless!
